Yarn Critiques

[mood |pleasedpleased]

Brand of Yarn: Bernet Softee Chunky
Yarn Content: 100% Acrylic
Recommended Hook/Needle Size: J-Hook
Hook/Needle Size Used: K-Hook
Craft: Crochet
Experience at Craft: Learned when I was six, on and off for awhile, steadily on for just over two years.
Pros: It’s a soft acrylic and incredibly durable.
Cons: Does not block [a con for all acrylics, really], could get a bit fuzzy.
Overall impression: Overall I really like this yarn. I’m using it for a purse pattern, and it’s held up remarkably. I had to frog the same section of yarn two or three times, and the yarn never split. It got a bit fuzzy here and there, but nothing that couldn’t be worked through. I think working a hook size larger than recommended made the project work up faster because I could clearly see what I was doing. It was also very soft to work with and didn’t squeak; a definite advantage for acrylic, in my book.
